ABOUT: Emma W. Rumberg, B.F.A

Emma W. Rumberg is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and graduated Ohio University summa cum laude with a B.F.A in dance performance and choreography in 2014. She received her early training in classical ballet from Ballet Western Reserve. Upon beginning her undergraduate studies, Emma sought further training and attended workshops: David Dorfman Intensive at Gibney Dance Center (2014), Bates Dance Festival at Bates College (2013 Performed), Movement Research’s M.E.L.T at Danspace NY (2012 and 2013), Doug Varone and Dancers at SUNY Purchase (2012), and New York Summer Dance Intensive at Dance New Amsterdam (2011 Performed). While at Ohio University, she had great pleasure of performing in the works of artists: Sean Curran, Urban Bush Women, Alex Springer and Xan Burley, Ori Flomin, Adriana Durant, Lisa K. Lock, Christine Cali, Douglas Nielsen, and Dahlia Nayar. Emma collaborated and performed in numerous student works as well as faculty works at Ohio University including: Chengxin Wei, Nathan Andary, Mickie Geller, Zelma Badu-Younge, John Bohuslawsky, and Travis D. Gatling. Since moving to New York, Emma has had the pleasure of working with The Median Movement and currently dances for Quentin Burley Dance Group.

Emma recently showed work at Triskelion Arts in July 2016 that she co-choreographed with Lauren Slivosky. She is also in the process of receiving her Pilates comprehensive certification from Balanced Pilates NYC.
